How much does GETMARKED cost?

GETMARKED Digitaliser starts at $29 a year for the Basic plan, which includes 50 page credits a year for a single teacher with no sharing. Personal is $40 a year plus a one-time $50 license fee and lifts the quota to unlimited personal use. Commercial and institutional buyers are quoted individually. All plans are annual and can be cancelled.

The number that matters is the page credit, because it is not one credit per question. One credit converts one page of a DOCX or PDF. For every other source, four questions spend one credit, so 50 credits import roughly 200 questions from a Canvas, Kahoot or QTI export. Exporting never spends credits, which means moving the same question bank out to several platforms costs nothing extra once it is in.

Read the plan restrictions before you pick. Personal is the cheaper unlimited option but it does not permit commercial use, while the $29 Basic plan does permit it and caps you on volume instead. A company buying the wrong one of those two is the most common mistake in their pricing table.

Is GETMARKED free?

Not really, but there is a genuine free entry point. Signing up gives you two free imports, which is enough to test whether your particular Word document converts cleanly before you pay anything. There is also a separate free Text to Quiz Converter on their site that is worth knowing about.

That free converter has real limits. It only outputs to Google Forms, Kahoot, Quizizz and Gimkit, it needs your questions formatted in a strict layout, question text and each option must fit on a single line, and it handles multiple choice, multiple response and open ended questions only. Images and math formulas are not supported. For a clean, plain list of questions it does the job.

Is GETMARKED legit?

Yes. GETMARKED Digitaliser is a real commercial product from a real company, with published usage counters, documented import and export paths, a reseller program, and a private quiz export API for institutions that want to automate conversion. It is widely used in higher education, and university teaching and learning teams recommend it for exactly the job it does.

We compete with it on one narrow edge, and it would be dishonest to pretend otherwise. For converting an existing question bank between platforms, GETMARKED does more than we do and we do not try to match it.

On the export side it writes back to Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, Brightspace, Schoology, itslearning, Neo LMS, CYPHER LMS and Sakai, out to Google Forms, Kahoot, Quizizz, Blooket, Gimkit, Socrative and Quizalize, and into files: QTI 1.2, QTI 2.1, QTI 2.2, Moodle XML, GIFT, Word and spreadsheet. It also targets LearnDash, TalentLMS, Adobe Captivate, Studymate and Zoom.

VidQuiz exports a narrower set on purpose, because it only ever needs to hand off a question set it just generated: a Google Forms ready CSV, a QTI 1.2 package as a zip with the manifest at the root, a Moodle GIFT text file, a tab delimited text file for the Blackboard Upload Questions route, a PDF with an answer key, and a generic CSV.

When is GETMARKED the right tool, and when is VidQuiz?

Pick by what you are holding right now. If you already have the questions written down anywhere, in a Word file, a PDF, an old Blackboard course or a colleague Kahoot, GETMARKED is the right tool and it will be faster and cheaper than anything we could offer you. If what you have is a recording and no questions, a converter cannot start.
