The short answer

A quiz maker for business turns company training material into an assessment you can assign and record. VidQuiz does it from the recording: paste a YouTube link or an existing transcript and it writes multiple choice questions with the correct answer marked, an explanation, and a timestamp. Pricing counts quizzes generated rather than employees, so plans run from $49 a month for 40 quizzes to $199 a month for 600, and everyone in the company can sit them at no extra cost.

Most quiz software for business charges for the people who take the quiz. You pick a plan by participant ceiling or by seat, and the bill grows every time the company does, whether those people take one quiz a year or forty. VidQuiz charges for the quizzes you generate instead. A plan is a number of quizzes a month, and how many employees sit them does not change the price.

The input is the training material you already have. Paste a YouTube link, including an unlisted one, and VidQuiz reads the video and drafts multiple choice questions with the correct answer marked, a short written explanation, and a timestamp back to the moment each question came from. For a Vimeo link, an MP4, a Zoom or Teams recording or a webinar capture, paste the transcript alongside it, because VidQuiz has no speech to text of its own. Edit anything before it goes out, then share a browser link or export to Google Forms, QTI for your LMS, Moodle GIFT, Blackboard, CSV or PDF.

Plan Quizzes a month Longest video Monthly Billed yearly Cost per quiz, yearly
Free demo 3, granted once 30 minutes $0 n/a n/a
Starter 40 60 minutes $49 $288 about $0.60
Creator 150 120 minutes $99 $588 about $0.33
Team 600 120 minutes $199 $1,188 about $0.17

The yearly figure is charged once and works out at half of twelve monthly payments. Cost per quiz is our own arithmetic on the yearly price, shown so the number is comparable with per seat tools. Headcount does not appear anywhere in it.

What is the best quiz maker for business?

There is no single answer, because business quiz tools split into three jobs that look alike in a demo and behave very differently on an invoice. Live event tools run a game in a room and charge by how many people can join. In video tools place questions inside the player and charge by video library and streaming. Generation tools write the questions from material you already have and hand them to whatever system keeps your records. Pick the job first and the shortlist gets short quickly.

The practical test is where the completion record has to end up. If a score has to sit against a named employee in your LMS and survive an audit, you want questions in a format your LMS imports natively, which rules out anything that reports only inside its own player. If you just need a knowledge check after a webinar and nobody has to keep the result, a share link that people open without an account is less work and less money.

  • Live energy in a room, result does not need to persist: a game based tool priced per host.
  • Proof somebody watched the video to the end: in video questions that block progress.
  • Score against a named employee in the LMS: generate questions and import them natively.
  • Same questions reused across teams, quarters and systems: a portable question bank, never a player embed.

How much does a business quiz maker cost?

Entry pricing runs from $19 to $83 a month, but the figure is close to meaningless until you know what it counts. Kahoot 360 Pro Start is $19 a month per host and caps a session at 50 participants; move to 1,000 participants and the same single license is $49 a month. Mindstamp starts at $83 a month billed yearly and counts active videos and streaming minutes. VidQuiz Starter is $49 a month for 40 quizzes with no participant number anywhere in the plan.

The divergence shows up when a company grows rather than when it buys. A per host tool multiplies when a second and third trainer need to run their own sessions. A per participant tier steps up the moment an all hands outgrows the ceiling. A per quiz plan only moves when you generate more quizzes, so a quiz written once and sat by four hundred people costs the same as one sat by four.

Can I use a quiz maker for employee training?

Yes, and recorded training is the case VidQuiz is built around. Take the session that already exists, a recorded onboarding walkthrough, a product update, a policy briefing, and generate a question set from it rather than writing one from a blank page. Questions carry a timestamp, so an employee who gets one wrong can be pointed at the exact ninety seconds that explains it instead of being told to rewatch an hour.

One caveat worth stating plainly before it costs you time. A generated draft is a strong start, not a finished assessment, and it should be read once before it counts for anything. Cut questions that test a throwaway aside, sharpen anything with two defensible answers, and check the coverage spreads across the whole recording rather than clustering in the opening minutes. On a twenty question draft that is a few minutes of work against the afternoon the same quiz takes to write by hand.

Do employees need an account to take the quiz?

Not for a shared link. A quiz published from VidQuiz opens in a browser and anyone with the link can take it without signing up for anything, which matters when the audience is contractors, franchisees, external partners or a field team that will not create another login. The account is needed to generate and edit quizzes, not to sit them.

If the score has to be recorded against a named person, that is a job for your LMS rather than a share link, and the route is an export. Send the question set into Canvas, Blackboard, Brightspace, Moodle or a WordPress LMS as a native quiz and the gradebook does what it already does.

Can I export business quizzes to our LMS?

Yes, and the format matters more than the logo. VidQuiz exports a QTI 1.2 package, Moodle GIFT, a Blackboard tab delimited file, a Google Forms ready CSV, a plain CSV and a PDF. QTI 1.2 is the format the major academic and corporate LMS platforms read for question import, which is why it is the one to reach for when the questions need to become a real quiz object rather than a document somebody reads.

Two things are worth checking on your side before a rollout. Confirm which import screen your LMS uses for a question bank as opposed to a whole course package, because they are different tools in most platforms and the course level one is slower. And run a single quiz through the whole path once, from generation to import to a test submission, before you queue up fifty.

Is there a quiz maker for work that does not charge per participant?

That is the specific gap VidQuiz fills. Participant based pricing is standard in this category because it grew out of classroom and event tools, where the number of people in the room is the thing that varies. In a company the number of people is fixed and the number of things you need to test on is what varies, so the meter is pointed at the wrong quantity.

Concretely: on the Team plan at $199 a month you generate up to 600 quizzes and every employee in the organization can sit all of them. There is no headcount field, no per seat step up and no participant ceiling on a shared link. If your bill has been rising because the company hired rather than because your training program grew, that is the number to compare against.

What can VidQuiz read, and what does it need from me?

A public or unlisted YouTube link works on its own, which covers most companies that keep training material on YouTube. For anything else, a Vimeo link, an uploaded MP4 or MOV, a Zoom or Teams recording, a webinar capture or an audio file, paste the transcript alongside it. VidQuiz has no speech to text of its own, so the transcript is the part it needs and the part your recording tool almost certainly already produced.

That requirement is less of an obstacle than it sounds in a business setting. Zoom, Teams, Google Meet and most webinar platforms generate a transcript automatically and let you download it, so the workflow is copy the transcript, paste it, generate. Uploads accept MP4, MOV, WEBM, M4A, MP3 and WAV.

Mindstamp Active videos plus streaming minutes and admin seats $83 / month billed yearly, $990 / year Questions embedded in the video timeline itself

Kahoot and Mindstamp figures were read on their own pricing pages on 21 September 2026; Kahoot shows some tiers against a crossed out original. Wayground does not publish business pricing on its pricing page, and the range we recorded first party in August 2026 sat in a help center article. Mindstamp does something VidQuiz does not: it places interactive questions inside the player timeline. VidQuiz writes the questions and hands them to whatever system already holds your completion records.
