Blooket CSV import and Blooket spreadsheet import template, filled from a video lesson
Blooket builds a question set from its own spreadsheet template, saved as CSV. VidQuiz writes the questions, the answers and the correct answer from your lesson video, so the template is filled in minutes instead of an evening.
What you are looking at
Three quizzes VidQuiz generated from three real YouTube videos. They are saved output, not generated in your browser. Pick one to answer it, and open the source video to check the questions against what is actually said in it.
For your own video, the live demo on the home page runs the real generator once, free, with no account.
This box only holds saved quizzes.
It has not sent your link anywhere. The live demo on the home page does run it: one real generation, free, no account and no card, on the same engine paying customers use.
What VidQuiz reads: paste a YouTube link and VidQuiz watches the video itself. For any other source (Vimeo, an MP4, a screen recording, an upload) paste that video’s transcript and VidQuiz writes the questions from it.

The short answer
Blooket imports multiple choice questions from its own spreadsheet template saved as a .csv file. The header row is Question #, Question Text, Answer 1, Answer 2, Answer 3, Answer 4, Time Limit (sec) and Correct Answer(s), under a Blooket title row. Correct Answer(s) takes numbers only, 1 to 4, with a comma for two right answers, and the time limit tops out at 300 seconds. Use CSV Import on the Set Creator page for a new set or Spreadsheet Import on the Set Edit page for an existing one. VidQuiz drafts the rows from a YouTube lesson or a transcript.
Blooket is where a lot of US classrooms play their review games, and the set behind every game is just a list of questions with two to four answers each. You can type them one card at a time, or you can fill Blooket's spreadsheet template, save it as CSV and upload the whole set in one go.
The upload is the easy part. The slow part is the content: thirty questions about the lesson you actually taught, each with three wrong answers good enough that a student has to think. Blooket's own help center points teachers to Khanmigo for AI written sets, and Khanmigo writes from a topic and a grade level you type in. It has not seen your lesson.
When the lesson exists as a video, the faster route is to draft the questions from the video and drop them into the template. This page covers the template exactly as Blooket documents it in its help center (updated September 2026): the eight columns, the number format that breaks most uploads, typing answer questions, and how a question set drafted from a lesson video moves into the template with one formula.

| Route | What it reads | Plan | The limit that matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Add Question, by hand | Nothing. You type the question and two to four answers and tick the correct one | Free Starter plan | Time. Audio questions and images in answers need Blooket Plus |
| CSV Import (new set) | Blooket's spreadsheet template, filled and saved as .csv | Free Starter plan, no plan named in the import article | Multiple choice and typing answer questions only. Up to four answers each |
| Spreadsheet Import (existing set) | The same template, added to a set you already have | Free Starter plan | Opened from the Set Edit page rather than the Set Creator |
| Quizlet Import | A Quizlet set exported as text, tab between term and definition, new line between rows | Free, but the Quizlet set must be in your Quizlet library | Term and definition pairs, so you still write the wrong answers |
| Khanmigo Blooket Generator | A grade level and a topic you type, plus optional standards and notes | Free Khanmigo teacher account | Writes from the topic, not your lesson. Saved sets default to Public |
| Question Bank and Copy and Duplicate | Questions or whole sets that already exist on Blooket | Blooket Plus | Only as good as the public set you borrow from |
| VidQuiz | A public YouTube link, or the transcript of any other recording | Free demo of 3 quizzes, then plans from $49 a month | Up to 30 questions per quiz, exported as a CSV you move into the Blooket template |

How do you import questions into Blooket?
For a new set, click Create, give the set a title, choose CSV Import and select Create Your Set. For a set you already have, open it and choose Spreadsheet Import on the Set Edit page. Either way Blooket offers its template: Copy opens it in Google Sheets, Download gives you an Excel file.
Fill in the questions, answers, time limits and correct answer numbers without touching the blue or gray cells, then download the sheet as a .csv file and upload it back on Blooket. You land on the Set Edit page, where you can fix anything before you host.
Read the set once in the editor before a live game. The import does what the file says, so a key that points at the wrong answer shows up as a question every student gets wrong, and that is easier to catch now than in front of the class.
Why is my Blooket CSV not importing?
It is almost always one of four things. The Correct Answer(s) column holds a letter or the answer text instead of a number from 1 to 4. A colored cell in the template was edited, deleted or shifted, often by pasting a whole sheet over it. The file was uploaded as .xlsx instead of being downloaded as .csv. Or a question has a fifth answer in a column Blooket does not read.
The fix is the same order every time. Start from a fresh copy of the template, paste only into the white cells from row 3 down, make every Correct Answer(s) cell a number, keep time limits at or under 300 seconds, and download as Comma Separated Values.
If the upload still fails, try three rows. If three rows import, the problem is a specific row, usually a stray comma inside a cell that a different program saved without quotes. If three rows fail, the problem is the file or the browser, not your questions.
What is the Blooket spreadsheet import template format?
Row 1 is a Blooket title row and row 2 holds eight headers: Question #, Question Text, Answer 1, Answer 2, Answer 3 (Optional), Answer 4 (Optional), Time Limit (sec) with a maximum of 300 seconds, and Correct Answer(s), where you include only the answer number.
Each row after that is one question. Blooket's own example shows the format: What's 3 + 3? with 3 and 6 as the answers, a 15 second time limit and 2 in Correct Answer(s), because the right answer sits in Answer 2. Two correct answers are written as 1,4.
Column J is the one most guides miss. Type typing there and the row imports as a typing answer question, with the answers you entered treated as is exactly matches.
Can you make a Blooket from a YouTube video?
Not inside Blooket. The Set Creator offers typed questions, CSV and Spreadsheet Import, Quizlet Import and, for Plus subscribers, the Question Bank, and none of those reads a video link. Khanmigo, the AI generator Blooket points to, writes from a topic you describe, so you get questions about the subject rather than about what the lesson said.
That is the gap VidQuiz fills. Paste the public YouTube link and it reads the video, then drafts multiple choice questions with four options and the correct one marked, a one line explanation and a timestamp showing the moment each question came from. For a recording that is not on YouTube, paste its transcript instead.
The draft exports as CSV with the options already in four columns, which is the shape of Blooket's Answer 1 to Answer 4.
How many answers can a Blooket question have?
Two to four. Blooket's question types article says each multiple choice question needs two to four answer options with at least one marked correct, and you may mark more than one. The template has exactly four answer columns, so a question with more choices has to be trimmed before it is imported.
A VidQuiz question normally has four options, which fits exactly. True or false questions fit too: Blooket's own advice is True in Answer 1, False in Answer 2, the last two left blank, and Random Order unchecked in the editor so True always sits on the left.
Can I import Quizlet into Blooket?
Yes. Choose Quizlet Import on the Set Creator or Set Edit page, export the Quizlet set as text with a tab between term and definition and a new line between rows, and paste the text into Blooket. The Quizlet set has to be in your own Quizlet library, and a set built with Quizlet Plus features may not copy unless you also have Quizlet Plus.
What comes across is term and definition pairs. A flashcard is not a four answer question, so you still write the wrong answers yourself, which is the slow part of building a good review game in the first place.
How do I turn a video lesson into a Blooket set?
Paste the lesson's YouTube link into VidQuiz, or paste the transcript if the recording lives in your LMS, on Vimeo or on a school drive. Review the questions, edit anything you would phrase differently, and export the CSV.
Open a fresh copy of Blooket's template. Copy the Question column into Question Text and Option A to Option D into Answer 1 to Answer 4, starting on row 3. Paste the Correct Option letters into a spare column on the right, say L, then in H3 enter =CODE(UPPER(L3))-64 and fill it down. A becomes 1, B becomes 2, and so on. Copy column H, paste it back as values, delete column L, and type a time limit into column G.
True or false rows carry no letter, so type 1 or 2 by hand. Move short answer rows to typing questions: answer text in Answer 1, typing in column J. Download as .csv, upload it through CSV Import, and host the set.

Why VidQuiz
What you get with blooket set
Questions drafted from the lesson itself
Paste the public YouTube link of a lesson, or the transcript of any other recording, and get each question with its options, the correct answer and a one line explanation, tagged with the timestamp it came from so you can check it against the video.
Fits the eight column template
Our CSV writes the options in Option A to Option D and the key as a letter in Correct Option. Those land in Answer 1 to Answer 4, and one formula turns the letter into the 1 to 4 number Blooket's Correct Answer(s) column demands.
A copy that lives outside Blooket
Blooket documents a printable worksheet but no question file export. Keep the full set, with the explanations Blooket has no column for, as a CSV, a PDF answer key, QTI 1.2, GIFT, a Google Forms file or a Blackboard upload.
